Launch of the Integrated Development Design Education Program – EDE Congo 2026-2027.

The Bachelor’s degree cycle at JUA University begins with the JUA University Common Core program, which introduces students to the most competitive holistic development strategies.

The Certified program is inspired by the Gaia Curriculum and forms the framework both for the COMMON CORE and the entire Bachelor’s degree cycle program at JUA University.

The launch of this program is a historic milestone for higher education in the Democratic Republic of Congo and throughout the Francophone region.

Training leaders rooted in their territories and whose science is guided by an unwavering conscience is part of JUA University’s mission.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has more than 78,000 villages that are outside any structured development process despite the abundance of natural resources.

This program is intended for actors who aspire to become transformers of territories.

You will learn to master integrated development strategies in rural and urban settings as well as community adaptation strategies to the effects of climate change.

In this in-depth exploration of the 4 dimensions and 20 modules of the Gaia Education Curriculum, community structuring becomes a key and transversal specialization at the heart of the challenges of ambitious development involving all stakeholders.

The certified Common Core program at JUA University is a mandatory course shared by all first-year Bachelor’s and Master’s students.

Here, students benefit from a unique teaching approach, supported by dual international certification, that of Gaia Education and the Global Ecovillage Network. And we continue to work to ensure our students align with the best international standards.

Gaia Education is the world’s leading reference for teaching transition and sustainability dynamics.

The Global Ecovillages Network (GEN): The largest global network committed to the design of ecovillages and resilient communities.

By coming to JUA University, you join one of the most ambitious educational systems of our time to become a designer, builder, and inventor of future societies, a key actor at the heart of positive territorial transformation.

Overall academic duration:
1800 hours covering the 2 semesters of the first year.

An intensive 165-hour residential program will immerse you in a context of self-discovery, your personal and collective capacities, and ambitions.

Key session dates:

From November 15 to December 12, 2026.

Language of instruction: French (a rare and valuable opportunity within the Francophone space).

Learning format: Face-to-face (Hybrid in-person with immersions).

A Holistic Approach in 4 Dimensions.

EDE does not simply align environmental theories.

The program relies on systemic design tools to unite the curriculum around four inseparable dimensions: social, ecological, economic, and cultural.

Organized into dynamic cohorts, students will learn to analyze the interpenetration of indicators from the different dimensions of integrated development and ensure territorial transformation.

The strategic objective is to train students and deploy them as skilled professionals directly within villages and territories to stimulate real dynamics of adaptation to global changes.

Location of the next introductory session to the COMMON CORE or EDE: Kisantu Botanical Garden, Kongo Central.

With additional immersive field experiences at the heart of local communities and surrounding villages.
